India, known as a developing country is actually developing at a fast rate in all sectors including education. In past few years a vast development has been noticed in the Indian education sector and hence a wide number of changes have been imposed on the various schedules and lists of examinations that take place each year. Different sectors and organizations are willing to get the best candidates and hence, a much more developed way of exams has been made in order to test the abilities of the candidates in a better way. Among the List of exams in India, important ones are categorized as school exams, entrance exams, competitive exams and others.

School Examination

In basic there are two common school boards that are operational in India known as the CBSE and CISCE. Both the boards conducts an examination for the students of their respective schools to certify that the students have successful passed out from their school education. While CBSE or Central Board of Secondary education conducts the AISSCE or All India Senior School Certificate examination, on the other hand CISCE or Council for the Indian school certification examinations conduct the ISC or Indian certificate school examination for the students.

Apart from these two main board examinations different states have their own board examinations also such as the Haryana, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and others.

Entrance examinations of India

After a student passes out his or her board examinations of school, it is the turn to get admitted in a good college. In that case, the government of India conducts a number of entrance exams in which the students have to rank really well so that they can get admitted in a college of his or her choice. The examinations conducted are based on various syllabuses that the students have studied till his or her schooling and the exam is for further higher level education. Some of the very common entrance examinations held in India are Engineering Entrance Examinations, Management Aptitude Test or MAT, Common Aptitude Test or CAT, Joint Entrance Examination or JEE and Medical Entrance Examinations. Apart from this some recent additions to the list are IIT-JEE advanced exam and others.

There are also such examinations that are meant for students who wish to take admission only for a particular university or college. Some of such entrance examinations are AMU for Aligarh Muslim University, VSAT for Vignan University, Guntur, VMU EEE for Vinayaka Mission University,VITEEE for Vellore Institute of Technology and many others.

Apart from these major examinations that are mainly for higher studies, there are many more other examinations that take place every year in India such as various competitive examinations like the UPSC for Union Public Service Commission, Defense Competitive exams, Bank competitive exams and Railways competitive exams based on which candidates are offered jobs in different sectors. Also there are many other examinations that are known as graduate or post-graduate exams to take admission in various foreign universities such as Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, Test of English as a Foreign language and many others.
